Evine’s Todd English sued for alleged sexual harassment

Guess it was only a matter of time before the sexual-harassment scandals that have hit the film and TV industries, as well as Washington, made their way to the home shopping world. Hello bad-boy chef and restaurateur Todd English, an HSN alum who is now on Evine sell kitchenware.

English is known as a womanizer, with the New York Post’s Page Six gossip column over the years doing stories about him in hot tubs with naked women and such. But this is different.

The Post recently reported that English and staff members of his Plaza Hotel Food Hall in Manhattan are being sued for alleged sexual harassment. That action was filed a few weeks ago by Gabrielle Eubank, according to the tabloid.

And that’s not all, folks.

In August six present and former English employees filed their own sexual-harassment suit, charging that there was a “rape culture” at Food Hall, with male staffers making obscene comments and being “sexually suggestive with pens, cucumbers and bananas,” the Post wrote.

English’s spokesman has no comment for the Post story, which went on to list a number of famous chefs and restaurant owners who have been accused of sexual abuse and harassment by female staff members.

The headline on the story was “Harvey-style sex abuse rampant in NYC dining world: workers.”

Evine Live’s Todd English To Open New Eatery

It looks like playboy chef, ex-HSN vendor and current Evine Live pot seller Todd English is taking another step to get his live back on track.

According to the New York Post on Tuesday, English is debuting a new restaurant, called The English, with his son at the W Hotel Downtown in Manhattan.

The eatery is replacing the BLT Bar & Grill, which closed last fall, the Post reported.

Veteran restaurateur English’s antics have included jilting his fiancee at the altar, pawing his dates in restaurants and dipping into hot tubs with half-naked women.

Evine Live Celebrates First Anniversary

Evine Live will celebrate ithe first anniversary of its new moniker and branding over Valentine’s Day weekend. We’re surprised there is any kind of hooting and hollering going on, since the company’s stock was trading at about $1, last time we looked.

Yet in a press release on Thursday, Evine Live crowed about its accomplishments and also unveiled a list of new vendors and brands that it will launch this spring.

“Our first year as Evine Live has been a transformative one,” CEO Mark Bozek said.

“A year ago we began debuting many new and exciting brands such as Beekman 1802, Consult Beaute, Paula Deen, Todd English, Nancy O’Dell and Nicole Curtis Home, among others, as part of our strategy of diversifying our product mix. We expect these brands as well as the new brands we will premiere this Spring will allow us to continue to effectively execute this strategy.”

The “1st Birthday Bash” kicks off Feb. 11.

During the birthday event, the “Believe at Home by Michelle Williams” collection will officially debut alongside Beekman 1802, Indigo Thread Co., Paula Deen Kitchen, 100% PURE Cosmetics and Todd English.

Evine Live Chef Todd English Sued Over $270,000 Legal Bill

Celebrity chef and Evine Live vendor Todd English is in hot water again.

The New York Post reported Wednesday that English, known for his public womanizing and imbibing, is being sued by a law firm for allegedly not paying his $270,000 legal bill.

English, who once sold his pots and pans on HSN, over the years has been sued several times for allegedly stiffing people how owed money. In the latest lawsuit, the firm Seyfarth Shaw claims the chief has refused to pay it for repping him for Labor Department disputes, bankruptcy and “matters related to English’s La Guardia Airport restaurant Figs from January to December 2013,” the Post wrote.

The tabloid also reported that English ranks No. 129 on New York’s list of those who owe taxes, with the chef owing $715,000.

Hope his cookware is selling well on Evine Live.

Evine Live’s Samuel Benham Likes His Tequila

Evine Live jewelry vendor Samuel Benham, fellow tequila lover, you’re a man after our heart.

Last night on the home shopping network host Heather Hall was talking about Benham, a courtly man who designs lovely artisan-crafted jewelry. Heather Hall mentioned to turquoise king Paul Deasy that she had gone out to dinner with Benham at the Vegas jewelry show, and he ordered a bottle of expensive tequila. And he apparently enjoyed it.

We wouldn’t have guessed that Benham liked snaffing down pricey tequila, so he rose a notch in our eyes. It’s our liquor of choice.

And speaking of Evine Live, on the network’s second-quarter call yesterday with analysts CEO Mark Bozek said that the new cookware lines by Paula Deen and chef Todd English are selling extremely well.

As you might remember, Deen and English are cast-offs from other home shopping networks. QVC dropped Deen like a hot potato during the controversy over racist remarks she made years ago. And HSN and English parted ways after he showed up in the tabloids inebriated and pawing willing women in public places.

Deen, by the way, is rumored to be one of the contestants on the new season of “Dancing With The Stars.”

Billy Joel’s Ex-, Paul Deen And Todd English Hit Home Shopping Circuit

Something’s cooking at several of the home shopping channels. And it adds up to a lot of dollar signs.

Today HSN put out a press release noting that Katie Lee, Long Island crooner Billy Joel’s ex-wife, is coming to the network. The announcement was about the No. 2 home shopping channel’s 24-hour “Ultimate Cooking Lesson” on Sunday.

The cast of characters for that shindig will also include Curtis Stone, Robert Irvine, Lorena Garcia, Carla Hall, Ingrid Hoffmann, Jamie Gwen, Eduardo Garcia and Keith Schroeder.

“HSN is looking forward to hosting our first-ever cooking lesson with culinary greats from all over the country who will present innovative products during one of our most memorable cooking events ever,” Anne Martin-Vachon, HSN’s Chief Merchandising Officer, said in a canned statement.”HSN continues to redefine the shopping experience by offering highly entertaining events such as these that are fun and informative for our customers.”

The release says:

HSN’s newest personality, Katie Lee, will be launching Endless Summer Cookbook (Stewart, Tabori & Chang Hardcover), taking viewers beyond kitchen walls as she guides them through the complete dining experience: the atmosphere, the stories that ingredients tell and the company at the table.

And we’d be remiss not to mention what’s brewing over at Evine Live. Not only has it snapped up Paula Deen, who was dumped by QVC after the furor over some of the racist remarks she made years ago, but it’s got HSN remnant Todd English, the sometimes publicly inebriated celebrity chef, hawking his cookbooks and such on-air.

Why all all the food fury? It makes tons of money for home shopping channels. David Venable helped pave the way with the multi-million dollar empire he’s built for QVC with his cooking shows. It’s no chump change.

Ex-HSN Vendor-Chef Todd English Does Rehab, Post Says

It looks like former HSN vendor-celebrity restaurateur Todd English may finally be seeing the light.

The New York Post’s Page Six gossip column reported Thursday that English, who was arrested on drunken driving charges in the Hamptons last month, has attended an “outpatient rehab program.”

English, whose intoxicated antics have included practically having a three-some in a Manhattan eatery, “is focusing on charity,” according to the Post.

Is this a PR ploy? To us, it could be.

English appeared at a Food Bank fundraiser at Henri Bendel earlier this week, and has some other good works in the works, including one for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Former HSN Vendor/Chef Todd English Arrested On DWI

Well, former HSN vendor and disgraced celebrity chef Todd English is in hot water again.

The noted restaurateur who has, or had, boites in several cities was arrested early Sunday morning, 3:30 a.m. to be precise, on charges of driving while intoxicated in tony Southampton.

Maybe this is all bad karma from when he ditched his would-be bride at the altar in Manhattan a few years back.

English, whose antics have included getting amorous with his two female friends at a Manhattan restaurant, and jumping in a hot tub with two others, posted $1,500 bail on Long Island and was released.

The cops released a mug shot of English, whose steel gray eyes look glassy.

The gentleman needs help.

Todd English’s Shenanigans Cost Him Control Of Olives, Post Reports

Not to beat a dead horse, but there’s more news on celebrity chef Todd English, a former HSN vendor.

We recently blogged some gossip on English from the New York Post’s Page Six. It was about the handsome but randy restaurateur being spotted groping two very willing women at a Manhattan eatery, embarrassing other patrons.

That was followed by Page Six showing a photo of English, looking inebriated, in a hot tub with three topless women.

Page Six had a folo on Wednesday, an item with the headline “Antics Cost Todd His Eatery.” The story said that English has “lost control” of his Manhattan restaurant, Olives, at the W Union Square Hotel. The Gerber Group was called in to take over management of the eatery because of English’s “erratic” behavior, Page Sis reported.

That item several times referred to English as “going off the rails,” the exact language we had used to described the chef’s sexy shenanigans.

Randy One-Time HSN Vendor Todd English Cooks Up A Threesome

Here’s one chef you won’t see on HSN’s 24-hour cooking special Sunday: playboy restaurateur Todd English, a one-time vendor on the home shopping network.

English, whose romantic — and we use the term “romantic” loosely — romps would put the young Warren Beatty to shame, was a headline several times last week in Page Six, the New York Post’s much-read gossip column.

In fact, English’s tacky, drunken antics have been so frequent, there is actually a tab “Todd English” on the Post’s website.

In a nutshell, it looks like English has gone off the rails. Early last week, Page’s Six headline on the randy chef was “Todd English has ‘threesome’ at Provocateur.'” It seems that English was spotted at a Manhattan Meatpacking club pawing two women in a booth.

Page Six reported that English and the babes — one Asian, the chef’s frequent romantic choice, and one white — were a very merry threesome. English’s tongue was all over both chicks, and their tops were loosened as they fooled around, Page Six said. The gossip column claimed that the club’s patrons could “see one of the girl’s boobs” during all this canoodling.

Apparently, English’s ex-girlfriend, Candice Sonneman, threw a drink in his face when she saw him at the Provocateur club with the two half-dressed women, the Post later reported.

But that wasn’t the end of it. Later in the week, the Post ran a photo of English, looking very inebriated, in a hot tub with three topless babes. In true tabloid style, the headline was “Star chef’s recipe for fun? 1 hot tub, 3 topless girls.”

We don’t know if any of the hot tub women were the one’s from the Provocateur incident.

English had been a vendor of green-friendly cookware on HSN, but we looked at the network’s website tonight and couldn’t find any of his merchandise.

Maybe we just missed it. Otherwise, it looks like English’s partnership with HSN has ended.

English’s prior claim-to-shame was when he left his fiancee Erica Wang at the altar the day they were supposed to wed in Manhattan. A real class act.
