Did Evine’s Nancy O’Dell Escape Trump?

October 8, 2016

For the second time, we’ve managed to find an example where the presidential election, the home shopping world and Donald Trump have all intersected. Hey, we didn’t go to the Medill School at Northwestern for nuthin’, folks.

A video of Trump making controversial comments about the opposite sex, and his unsuccessful attempt to boink a married woman, several years ago has gone virai and made national headlines.

As it turns out, the faithful wife that Trump failed to seduce was “Entertainment Tonight” host Nancy O’Dell, according to the New York Post’s Page Six. We don’t know if she has made any comment on this or not.

O’Dell, a gorgeous blonde who was apparently smart enough and moral enough to fend off Trump’s advances, just happens to be a vendor who sells an apparel line on Evine.

A few weeks ago, we noted that Trump’s latest wife Melania used to do a fashion jewelry and watch collection for QVC. But the No. 1 home shopping channel hasn’t been selling that line for quite some time.

We’ve already written about some of these, but they are: V by Vanessa Williams Fashions; Believe at Home by Michelle Williams; Lisa Vanderpump Home; Betsy Johnson fashion jewelry: Forever Moissanite jewelry; Charms & Chains jewelry; Cailyn Beauty; Active Argan Breakthrough Beauty; Gravity Defyer Footwear; Pietro NYC Handbags; Phoenix Fashion Week; and Musse & Cloud Footwear.

Guess who else will be part of the festivities? Invicta watches!

What would Evine Live be without Invicta watches? A lot of dead air time.

But viewers will also have a chance to win one of three shopping sprees during a birthday sweepstakes.

And the list of returning vendors includes Nancy O’Dell Fashions, Fair Child by Karen Fairchild Fashions, Nicole Curtis Home, Andrew Zimmern: World’s Best Meats, Consult Beaute with Dr. Terry & Heather Dubrow, 100% PURE Cosmetics, OptiLife Nutrition by Dr. Joe, BoKu Superfoods and Sword & Plough.

‘ET’ Host Nancy O’Dell Coming To Evine Live With Clothing Line

May 28, 2015

“Entertainment Tonight” anchor Nancy Odell is the celeb du jour who is bringing a clothing line to a home shopping network: She’s coming to Evine Live, Women’s Wear Daily reports.

We don’t buy what Evine Live CEO Mark Bozek said in the interview, namely, “Gone are the days when you can just be famous and go on television to sell works. Now you have to be passionate about the product. The customer can see through that if you’re not. Nancy has a great sense of style and is passionate about design and fashion. That’s really what we look for when we launch a personality-based brand.”

What we are hearing from our readers is that they want quality fashions with a consistent fit at a reasonable price. They seem very wary of garments sold by celebrities.

The collection will debut in September, and like every star, O’Dell claims she is intimately involved in designing the pieces. She told WWD that she plans to wear the clothes on “ET” and that viewers often ask her where she gets her wardrobe.

The price points on her Evine Live line range from $49 to $99.

QVC’s Red Carpet Party From L.A. Rocks With Stars Like Joan Collins, Nolan Miller’s Date

March 6, 2010

We came in late to watch QVC’s “The Buzz on the Red Carpet” from L.A. Friday night, and were surprised to see Patti Reilly in the West Chester studio.

We checked the online forums to see what we missed, and apparently the home shopping network had trouble getting its live feed from the Left Coast and Reilly had to fill in at the last minute until they got things fixed.

Anyway, we were pretty impressed with QVC’s celebrity-studded pre-Oscar event at the swank Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. Lisa Robertson was doing the selling, while Mary Beth Roe and Shawn Killinger were conducting celebrity interviews. Joan Collins, QVC vendor Nolan Miller’s date, and Tia Carrere were among those in the house.

A still drop-dead gorgeous (and fellow Northwestern alum) Cindy Crawford was hawking Meaningful Beauty products, and former entertainment-magazine show host Nancy O’Dell introduced her QVC fashion jewelry line.

“I’ve loved QVC for a long time,” O’Dell said.

QVC vendors Isaac Mizrahi, Rachel Zoe, Chaz Dean and Bruce Makowsky were also on the air.

The fun will continue Saturday night.

QVC Will Be In Los Angeles With Special Oscar Shows, The Los Angeles Times Reports

February 7, 2010

QVC gave The Los Angeles Times a nice little scoop: The home shopping network is coming to the Oscars, or at least trying to ride on its coattails.

QVC will do two live three-hour broadcasts from the Four Seasons Hotel (we stayed there once while on assignment) in LA on March 5 and 6, which is the weekend of the Academy Awards, according to The Times.

Unfortunately, Lisa Robertson (who thinks she’s all that) will be hosting, wearing her usual low-cut gowns and hair extensions, we’re sure. This red-carpet gig will really give her as swelled head.

You can expect to see QVC vendors such as Rachel Zoe, Isaac Mizrahi and Joan Rivers at the QVC event.

Rivers will wear a necklace that will be sold on QVC on the real Oscar red carpet when she does fashion coverage for E! Entertainment Television.

Entertainment-magazine TV show veteran Nancy O’Dell will launch her new QVC jewelry line during the network’s Oscar shows, the Times reports, while Zoe and Mizrahi have done special items for the festivities.
