Ex-QVC Host Lisa Mason’s Husband’s Brain Is Cancer-Free

September 17, 2016

Finally, some really good, miraculous news.

Former QVC host Lisa Mason, a fan favorite, on Saturday reported that her beloved husband Gino is cancer-free. That’s a stunning and fantastic turn of events since he had been diagnosed with brain cancer, presumably fatal.

On Facebook, Mason posted, “I am thrilled to report that his scans show no cancer in his brain and all other sites continue to shrink! It is hard to believe that one year ago I almost lost him. Today, he feels wonderful, has an exceptionally great quality of life and is full of energy.”

Mason said she was going public because a year ago, she changed Gino from his treating doctors after they “gave us very little
hope and said immunotherapy would not work for Gino. I found a new doctor who would talk with us about immunotherapy. And then, he put Gino on immunotherapy even though it wasn’t ‘approved’ for Gino’s cancer. That treatment, by the grace of God, is why my Beloved is with me today.”

She recommended that those with late-stage cancer or caregivers to “TRUST your gut and get a second opinion!! If your doctor won’t speak with you about immunotherapy, speak to another doctor.”

Amen to that, sister.

Mason, a deeply Christian woman, also suggested those with cancer keep the faith. Indeed!

“Don’t worry, I am ok!,” she said. “I ask for your thoughts and prayers at this time and I also ask for you to be considerate of my privacy. I am going to take this time to get myself back on track and to be with my Beloved. God bless you all for welcoming me back to QVC in such a warm way, back in April. April 1, 2015

Yada, yada, yada. Lisa Mason has revealed when she is returning to QVC as a host.

Mason posted a blog on QVC.com that warned, “I’m Back.” She makes her first appearance on April 13 on a Diamonique show with Jane Treacy.

Here it is:

Hello, my Dear Friends!

I am so very excited to share with you that I am returning to QVC as Host. It has been almost 4 1/2 years since I was a part of the QVC family and and I have missed you terribly! I have received the most amazing, warm welcome from the host team and everyone at QVC.

Gino, my husband, and I are transitioning back to Pennsylvania now. As soon as all is settled, I’ll see you on the air.

Here is what Mason’s mentor, Mary Beth Roe, had to say:

Don’t you just love seeing a long lost friend you haven’t seen in a long time? That’s why I’m so glad Lisa Mason is back as a QVC host! After a decade and a half of shopping with Lisa, falling in love with her sweet southern accent and her charming sense of humor, she wanted to branch out and try other things. We all understood, so she moved on about 5 years ago. She wrote a book, dabbled in real estate, did infomercials and was even a guest on QVC with Supersmile (one of my favorite products), and now we needed her back!

It’s like riding a bike…you never forget how. She will jump right in and take you shopping, and I’m sure you will enjoy her, laugh with her laugh, and fall in love with her, “Sugar”…”you sweet thing”… But also know that she knows her stuff. She knows the products inside and out, and she especially excels with jewelry, beauty, fashions, accessories as well as home goods. Cooking? I’ll find out from Gino, her husband! Welcome back, Lisa!

Prayers to both of them.

Ex-QVC Host Lisa Mason’s Gino Has Stage 4 Cancer

October 21, 2014

Ex-QVC host Lisa Mason thanked well-wishers for their prayers and support for her and her husband Gino, who has cancer that spread to his brain.

“My husband has stage four esophageal cancer which has spread,” Mason posted on Facebook.

“Other than slight difficulty swallowing a few months back, no symptoms at all. I sincerely beg you…if you or someone you know has untreated acid reflux disease or has problems swallowing, please, please see a doctor. NOW,” she wrote.

“A simple endoscopy is all that’s needed,” she continued. “The tumor in his brain is gone…now we treat the esophagus. We have a long road. But we live by our faith and trust in The Lord. Thank you and love you all.”

Prayers again for Lisa and Gino.

Ex-QVC Host Lisa Mason’s Husband Recovering From Brain Cancer

October 19, 2014

A few months ago former QVC host Lisa Mason revealed on Facebook that her beloved husband was diagnosed with cancer.

On Saturday Mason posted an update on Gino, the Samoan-descent spouse she would always mention on on-air.

“He is the strongest man I know,” Mason wrote. “Brain surgery followed by excruciating brain radiation. Now chemo. He is my rock, my one true love. He is my husband. If The Lord took us both tonight, we would have maxed out on love.”

“We live a small, simple life by society’s standards,” Mason said. “But we are wealthy beyond belief in Faith, family and friends. Please continue to pray for my beloved as we start this next journey together. With sincere love and appreciation.”

Prayers to both them.

Ex-QVC Host Lisa Mason’s Plea After Cancer Diagnosis

August 9, 2014

We slept late today, Saturday, and found this disturbing news when we checked Facebook. Former QVC host Lisa Mason is apparently up against a life-threatening situation: cancer.

Mason, who has been acting as the the rep for Supersmile (we think that’s what it was) on QVC, said that we won’t be seeing her on the home shopping network again.

Here is the rest of her FB post:

My life has taken an abrupt turn. Please, please pray for me and Gino. We are facing the fight of our lives with a sudden diagnosis of cancer.

I believe in the power of medicine and great doctors. But, I mostly believe in the power of our great and mighty Heavenly Father, whom Gino and I serve and trust. Please pray for Gino and Lisa and please pass this on. Much love to you always.

Mason and her husband Gino, who she would always mention on-air, live in Manhattan. When she left QVC, there was talk that she was going because of an illness she reportedly had, lupus.

Anyway, we loved her on QVC. She was a funny, warm sometimes racy Southern Belle of a host. Prayers to her and Gino.

“We start at 10:30 at B and N (Barnes & Noble) on Lex with coffee and talk and books,” Mason blogged.

“The great folks at the 86th street location want to have books on hand if you are interested in having one signed! Then, at noon, we break for lunch and then go to the Laura Geller Make-Up Studio! Laura will be there with her fab staff helping with all our makeup needs. She will have great deals and will probably serve champagne!!!”

Mason is asking that those who want to make the trek RSVP.

“I will be putting up a page for you to reserve a spot,” Mason wrote. “There is NO OBLIGATION to purchase anything. That is NOT what this is about. This is a girlfriends day and a celebration of spring. But, it will give us a general idea of how many people we should expect. For now… save the date and call you best gal pal! Or, if you prefer, bring your hubby. Mine will be there, too!!!!! Love you!”

Anyone who watched Mason on QVC often heard her talk about her husband, Gino. He is just turning 50, according to Mason.

“I am still in love,” Mason wrote. “Happy Valentine’s Day!”

In a prior post, Mason said that her mother Barbara and sister Amanda will also be attending “L and L.”

So far, Mason is doing well with her book. She basically sold out 2,000 signed copies. You can also order it at www.bbotw.com.
