QVC Host Lisa Robertson Looks Pretty Damn Good In Person

September 8, 2011

We’re standing in the Suspenders Building in Soho at QVC’s Fashion’s Night Out Event. Our dogs are starting to bark, our Spanx have cut off our circulation and our hair is frizzy. But who cares?

We’re blogging on one of the laptops that QVC has set up. Sweet.

It’s a typical Manhattan event, with loud music and a lot of people dressed in black, us included. It’s crowded and noisy. The party started at 5 p.m., and QVC doesn’t start broadcasting live from here until 9 p.m. And we haven’t had one drop of liquor! Yet.

Lisa and The Homeshoppingista

The highlight so far has been seeing QVC host Lisa Robertson in the flesh. She’s wearing a simple cobalt blue dress with a black belt, and we love her hair tonight. She is slender and pretty. She was posing for photos upstairs, and of course we had to horn our way in.

Robertson got on our good side immediately when she complimented us on our diamond stick cross.

We quickly introduced ourselves as The Homeshoppingista, but we really have no idea if she knew who are. Then QVC took a shot of us with Robertson, and we will downdoad and post it later. That is, we’ll post it unless we look like a big whale next to her, despite our Spanx.

Being here is certainly a great incentive for us to lay off the Pizza Hut bread sticks. We guess it’s a good thing that we can’t find any food here.

There was a blonde female reporter here from the entertainment magazine show “Extra,” and we’ve been following her around. That’s because we can’t believe how thin she is.

When we came in, we caught a quick glimpse of QVC host Jane Treacy, and then we headed upstairs. QVC has a red carpet area outside, but we didn’t see anyone of note on it. Upstairs, we met QVC top honcho Mike George and briefly chatted with him. We hope our tape recorder was working.

QVC upstairs set up stations with the various makeup lines that it sells, such as Laura Geller, who has tomorrow’s TSV, and Bare Escentuals. In fact, we saw Leslie Blodgett posing for photos with party attendees. We had Bare Escentuals touch up our shiny face, and the Laura Geller rep used one of the blushes from the TSV on us.

We were dying to have the reps from T3 flatiron our hair straight, but it’s so humid that we now it would go curly as soon as we walked out the door. So why bother?

For a QVC shopper like us, this is a dream. Downstairs there are stations with samples of new products from vendors such as Joan Rivers, Heidi Klum, Michael Dawkins, Judith Ripka, Melania Trump, Rachel Zoe, Robert Lee Morris and Marc Bouwer.

There are samples of two huge, gorgeous bib necklaces on display from Joan Rivers. One has huge faux diamonds, and the other has bling and orange and black enamel flowers. Stunning.

We got a gander at Klum’s new jewelry line, but we have to say that we’re not feeling it. Sorry Heidi.
