Margo Manhattan Brings Her Divine Jewelry To Evine Live

Last month Evine Live announced a bunch of vendors who were coming to the network this fall, including jewelry designer Margo Manhattan. We didn’t know who she was, but we do now.

We looked her up because lo and behold, Evine Live invited us to a launch party this Tuesday for her jewelry line. That shindig will be held at Studio 450 Penthouse in Manhattan, of course.

So what’s the deal with Ms. Manhattan?

She makes jewelry for celebs such as Selena Gomez, and Beyonce wore one of her necklaces for her “Blow” video.

The pieces are chunky sterling silver and gold, and remind us of the late Scott Kay’s work. In fact, we have a large Scott Kay silver cross that looks very much like the one Beyonce had on.

Super star Bey is wearing Manhattan’s necklace in a scene where she’s decked out in a colorful bustier.

We can’t wait to see what her Evine Live pieces look like. We hope that they are not so scaled down that they lose the appeal of Manhattan’s more upscale jewelry.

Manhattan made headlines in New York City a few years back when her shop on tony Madison Avenue was robbed. In fact, the necklace that Beyonce wore was reportedly one of the items taken.

We liked the fact that Manhattan said she wasn’t worried the lose of $54,000 in merchandise, she was just happy that her saleswoman was unharmed by the thief.

Selena Gomez is a celebrity? Really??

I guess Paula Deen and Bobby Flay are one too!

My lord someone needs to describe to me what a celebrity is in today’s standards.

Usually rock stars and famous musicians and film stars and sport icons are considered celebrities, but the Disney channel?

Beyoncé, LMAO! Yeah she’s a star, although a pouty pretentious one!!

Music will never be the same, I’ll take real celebrities like Billy Joel, Earth Wind & Fire, Pattie Labelle…etc (minus her new boring cooking show) 😉

So I ASSume Guy Fieri is a celebrity too?

I just puked in my mouth!

We live in one fu**ed up world with many problems and people love to avoid reality and kowtow to the dollar while this country’s enemies are lining up against us while we get a** raped in the economy and owe trillions, like as soon as our kids turn 18 they owe 45K of the national debt!

Oh well, we got Beyoncé to look up to and the transparent people that live for gossip.

My initial comment went a little off topic, LOL.

My sister in law loves Margo Manhattan and swears Evine is going in the right direction.

I say not as long as 2 things remain at Evine, their god awful customer service and that disease called Invicta!

I look forward to this collection. I assume the pieces will be in costume? Evine is really lacking in good costume jewelry lines. They seem to have given Sweet Romance the heave ho after over 20 years, such a shame as Shelley Cooper not only has beautiful creations, but is also a jewelry historian. I’ve learned so much from her! Other lines just never caught on. The promising Rush line seems to be gone, too bad, as they had some striking bead and crystal designs. It shouldn’t be that difficult to find lines offering well made, stylish, affordable pieces.

T.W., I agree about celebrities. The shopping channels were great before the infusion of every “celebrity” and his brother. Or mother. So many of them are clueless about what they’re selling, whereas true designers are a joy to watch.
