JTV Sees Another Host Exit To Go To NYC, Now Leslie Delery

JTV is killing us: Another one of our favorite hosts is leaving.

Last night we were watching Leslie Delery and she referred to a Facebook post she had made. Our heart sank, because it turned out to be just what we feared. She’s leaving.

“To my @jtv friends: I’m posting with mixed emotions to share some personal news,” Delery said.

“After extensive reflection, I have decided to move back to NYC which unfortunately means I will be leaving my role as a host at JTV. It is very bittersweet as it has been a dream shopping with you over the last 3.5 years. I’m so grateful to have been welcomed into your home. The laughs, the late night hangs, and my luring you into my Asscher cut addiction (#sorrynotsorry lol) is so much more than I could have hoped for!”

She said, “I’m going to spend time with family over the holidays before heading up to NYC in the New Year. I hope we can stay connected on social media as I will continue to keep you updated on what’s going on.”

This departure follows the recent exit of JTV host Kristen Keech, who left to come back home to PA and launch her own online shop. She often televises from the Big Apple.

We like Delery. She is smart, we enjoy her comments and presentations.

Don’t think it’s a coincidence that our favorite JTV hosts are East Coast chicks. We hadn’t known that Delery grew up in our New Jersey, but she has often talked on-air about living and working in New York City.

Here is her bio from JTV.com:

Leslie joined JTV in June 2019 and is an Applied Jewelry Professional accredited by the Gemological Institute of America. She brings a wealth of experience in both hosting and sales and has always had an obsession with jewelry. Having worked and consulted for various Fortune 500 companies, Leslie strongly believes in the power jewelry can have on the person wearing it, such as how a certain color, the shape of a necklace or a hoop earring can alter your mood completely. She is also passionate about sharing her appreciation of the science and history of gemstones.

Prior to joining JTV, Leslie was an on-air host in New York City. She had the opportunity to work with many beloved companies, including Carrera of America and AT&T, and taught the audience in a variety of areas from cybersecurity to NYC real estate to toy cars. In addition to her broadcasting work, Leslie also once served as an advisor and sales professional to Fortune 500 companies on marketing and analytics. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

When she’s not on air, Leslie is likely cooking, exploring her new home in Knoxville, listening to sermons or FaceTiming with her many nieces and nephews, sisters and parents, all of whom have become JTV addicts. Born a California girl but raised in New Jersey, Leslie spends her time off traveling to visit friends and family. She’s also a HUGE fan of college basketball, so you may hear her talk about it on air.

Leslie has been a good host, what I’ve seen of her on JTV. It seems the new theme for leaving JTV has been homesickness. And the better hosts are leaving. I wish Leslie the best of luck, and hope she does well.
This blog made me think of when I watched JTV more frequently. I enjoyed Cheryl Ells late night shows (I’m an insomniac) and her vast information on gems. I looked back, and found she was on JTV for 12 years. It didn’t seem that long; life is flying by! Cheryl is now on shop LC, a channel not available to me.
I’d better warm up the house and get going. I’m going “pumpkin picking” today, in an outfit the hosts would not approve of for that activity. But maybe my outfit will make my friend jealous, as they promise on numerous occasions 🙄🙄.

Both Leslie and Kristen were awesome hosts. I remember Kristen’s very first days with her cool hairstyles, surprised conservative JTV allowed it….and working with Dawn. Then she cruise shipped it for awhile and came back. Good luck in her new venture!!

I CANNOT DEAL WITH THE OVERTLY HAPPY HOSTS YOU HAVE NOW…too phony to watch..and some have been there for a long time.

I still miss whoot whoot CHERYL ELLS! BEST!

    • DARLENE Says:

      Agreed! 🥴💜🎄

That’s too bad, Leslie did a great job hosting at JTV. I don’t watch much, but I did enjoy her presentations. There’s no place like home, and I wish her the best of luck there. Wow, Judy, I didn’t realize Cheryl was at JTV that long. I don’t get shop LC either.
What happened to the HSN forums? You click on it, it goes to forums for a second, then switches to something called Tag Cloud, which immobilizes the screen on my tablet and is gibberish anyway. I know the forums at HSN are turgid, but I’d like to read them occasionally to see what’s going on. What’s going on with HSN? Giving and taking back “watch now”, no forums…. are they trying to get rid of customers? Put the forums back as they were and get rid of stupid Tag Cloud.

    • Judy Says:

      Alice,
The tag cloud has been on there for at least a year. The only time I’ve been able to read the forums is when I’m awake at 2 AM. It seems tag cloud runs at least for 18 hours. You click on the forum, it appears for a second, then tag cloud comes on. Annoying.
I agree with everyone about “the group” thing at JTV, and that’s why good hosts don’t stay. Or they get rid of them, like they did Michele Lau. Afraid of competition, etc. Even Connie Craig left that party long ago. She probably saw that she couldn’t get anywhere, then jumped to HSN, which was getting bigger and bigger at the time.
I do watch JTV occasionally, but I think my last purchase was a couple years ago. I ended up getting a couple of the Hallmark pieces. I think that was it.
And while we’re here, Joan Boyce should be ashamed of herself for the astronomical prices she’s charging for her much-less-quality-than-before crap. I did notice that JTV marked all of it down quite a bit. Either they’re trying to move it to make more room, or she’s leaving. I also lost my respect for her when she snapped at Bill Green on air after his mother died. What a self centered beyotch. She hid it well, for awhile.

      • Alice Says:

        Judy
The tag cloud is terrible. I know it’s been on there for awhile, it seems the forum is on there less and less.
You are all right about JTV; if you’re not in the club, you’re ignored. Good luck, Leslie.
As for Joan Boyce, I’ve never liked her. She seemed like a big phony from the get go. Some of her jewelry was ok, most of it looked too blingy for me. I saw that show with Bill Green. What a greedy old bag. He couldn’t take 5 seconds to thank a coworker for their condolences. She’s so full of herself. And her new selection sucks, and costs a fortune. Someone should yank that phony pony of hers right off. Same with Heidi Daus.
We had a hard freeze last night, and boy is it cold here. We had both the heat and the fireplace going this morning. We just turned the heat back on a few minutes ago, and my husband is going to make a fire after dinner. It won’t be as cold tonight, but still chilly. Summer is definitely gone. And Halloween is only 5 days away.

  3. cp Says:

Just speculating, but I’m wondering if Leslie realized that she wasn’t going to go much further than she has at JTV anytime soon and decided to move on. There’s an established group of longtime hosts who don’t seem to be going anywhere and they seem to have new, young ones coming in all the time, mainly to do things like hosting Facebook chats during shows. So she was stuck in the middle, so to speak. I also noticed her reference to working late nights (JTV goes to repeats from 2-6 a.m. eastern, if I recall). That says to me she was, indeed, stuck.

She can put JTV on her resume and with her education and other experience I don’t think she’ll have trouble finding a new job.

    • Stephanie Says:

CP, I totally agree with you regarding Leslie. I have seen her only a few times but I did like watching her. It’s too bad the powers that be at JTV did not utilize Kristen and Leslie the way they should have instead of being stuck in their ways.

      • Kelly Stewart Says:

Leslie is going to be missed! I will miss her intelligence and her humor 😢. I am really sad that she is leaving 😢. I totally agree. I am a huge JTV fan, but I wish they could have featured Kristen and Leslie in a larger capacity ( think ala Scott or Robert.) As a highly educated woman who is also obsessed with jewelry, I truly appreciated all Leslie brought to the table of home shopping.

      • Lainie Says:

        @cp, @Stephanie

I came to say the same thing. I think I’ve mentioned before, “the group” or clique of favorites at JTV. They’ve been there forever, and will be there till JTV turns out the lights.
They’ll get a great new host…. Keech and Delery are good examples…. and they’ll end up not doing much, because the group gets first dibs at everything. Then they feel stuck, and move on. Cheryl Ells also comes to mind.
Delery will do well; she’s a good host. And I wish her luck with her new beginning. I’m not as much of a JTV watcher as I used to be; the variety and in some cases, the quality, is gone. And, it would be nice if they’d treat these good hosts better because a little host variety is nice, too. In the mid late 2000s it seems they were starting to up their game. They were hiring new hosts, and freshened up the set, and had greater variety in their inventory. Like the other shopping channels, it cut way back, and we have what’s left.

  5. Jerri Says:

I think Leslie is a good host. And I wish her the best on her new ventures. I haven’t seen her much; my JTV watching heyday was from 2004-2011. The time that Lainie was talking about was then, and I was buying things off and on. I had a Jay King blister pearl ring and cuff from 2000 or 2001, which I wore a lot. Mostly casually. I bought a dress for a party, some years later, that they went very well with. I’m not a matchy person, but I wanted some earrings to wear, to dress it up. I went to JTV, and found some beautiful blister pearl dangle earrings, and non matching, but equally as nice pendant and long chain, all set in silver. They went together well, and I still have and wear all. I also bought a couple more blister pearl rings from JTV. But now, I rarely watch.
I agree with you all; I’m on the same page with Laine about ” the group”. I noticed that long ago. JTV reminded me of the defunct Shop at Home. A clique hen and rooster party. And that’s fine, unless you are a new host trying to make it there. Back in my insomniac days, also during said time, I enjoyed Cheryl Ells and her late night gemstone shows. I learned a lot from her. But she got tired of the graveyard shift, and they wouldn’t switch her up. The group doesn’t work the night shift. And they get all the good shows. So Cheryl, Kristin, and Leslie left, among many others.
The last thing I bought from JTV was a couple pieces of Hallmark jewelry about 2 years ago. I do watch occasionally, but with the changes there, just like HSN, QVC and HQ, there are way fewer reasons to watch.

    • Stephanie Says:

Cheryl Ells is screeching her way through shows at shop LC where they have increasing problems in being trustworthy. Seems as if there really isn’t a Home Shopping Channel to aspire to work at these days. For example, Michael Valitutti leaving HSN to go back to HQ. I thought he was crazy til I read his explanation on face book and here this morning. Sad. People on face book already complaining about HQ’s $9.99 shipping charge. Then there are those wishing for the return of the three amigos=Michael, Paul Deasy with his junk, and Chuck Clemency who people think designed his own line but really represented Shop LC for the last ten years and also sold junk.

      • Jerri Says:

        Stephanie
I just read Ms Moss’ post about Manse, and MV. It quoted Michael’s Facebook post. HSN gets an A++ in super stupidity. Michael was potentially a big money maker for them, if they had given him more hours, and let him send his gem cards with purchases. And also, having many items at $99 would have really made sales go up. Qurate is a bunch of idiots. And as I pointed out to Ms Moss, they give Jay King airtime almost every day. They certainly could have given Michael more.
I wish I could get Shop LC. I hear all the hosts are screeching on there. I used to enjoy Cheryl on JTV. Apparently screeching is a host requirement on LC! And I’ve read things about them not being honest, and selling inferior products (more than the usual home shipping slight of hand).
And HQ charges $10 to ship?!?! I haven’t ordered there in a long time. What a blatant rip off. Amazon, Walmart, and others give you free shipping if you spend $35. Most places do ground shipping free, or $3-$5. I wouldn’t order from HQ just because of that.
As for Manse, his shrunken jewelry hasn’t tempted me for years. I have a little of his original, normal size stuff. The QVC thing kind of surprised me. I don’t completely understand his move, other than proximity of locations, but it doesn’t matter. Unlike MV, I won’t be missing Manse at HSN.

      • Jerri Says:

I just went on HQ’s website and MV has jewelry on there. The prices on his jewelry, for the most part, are noticeably lower than HSN’s. And some have huge markdowns. So although $10 shipping at HQ is a rip off, you’re saving enough on Michael’s stuff there over HSN, that you’ll still come out ahead. I see several things I like, but I’ve spent enough money lately. Catch you after Christmas, Michael. Oh, and BTW, the sets I bought for my daughters in law are absolutely gorgeous in person. I know they’ll love them.

    • Stephanie Says:

Michael V. had some jewelry left on HQ and that is what may be the lowest price items. I did notice his items were more on HSN but I thought it was the sign of the times. The Or Paz designer was glad to get a couple of shows this week, though 1 a m or thereabouts is not really prime time. He was afraid he was done with home shopping as he was not getting any time slots. I wonder if the desire for jewelry has cooled over these last couple of years coupled with price hikes and most things “bathed” in gold, gold vermeil, rhodium over silver, etc. By the way (as all the hosts are saying now) Michael V. is on Amazon and Overstock, at least he was.
Jerry, you can catch LC on shoplc.com live programing if you are so inclined.

      • Jerri Says:

        Stephanie
Thanks. I wondered about the super low priced items of MV’s at HQ. But his normally priced HQ stuff is cheaper than HSN. And not surprised that he’s on Amazon and Overstock. Everyone is, especially Amazon.
I’m not buying any for awhile. I’ve spent enough money on Christmas. We didn’t go overboard, and even spent less than usual. But it still was a bite out of the wallet. I did, recently, donate jewelry I don’t wear anymore to my DILs. So my jewelry armoire is a bit lighter. Next year ….

      • Jerri Says:

        Stephanie
Or Paz….. wasn’t he on HSN some years ago? Like mid/late 2000s?
I have some of his jewelry, mostly rings. I like the rough hewn, natural look of his jewelry. I looked on QVC later on last night, and all his rings are marked down. And putting him on air in the middle of the night doesn’t help. I do believe jewelry has become a less important purchase; all of us are trying to keep afloat. But some of these unique designers should be spotlighted, not hidden in the overnight hours, or sandwiched between stand mixers and toaster ovens for an hour.
Anyway, I remember him from HSN, or perhaps I’m mixing him up with another designer.

Alice, I had insomnia last night and at 1:30 AM I looked for the HSN forums and instead got that stupid tag cloud. It makes my phone and tablet freeze, too. I haven’t tried my laptop yet. That’s the stupidest…. well, one of many stupid…. things they’ve done.

  6. joe mama Says:

i bet that old time crew has stock in the company and its cheaper to keep them than to oust them

    • Jerri Says:

      Joe
I wouldn’t be surprised if they own part of Knoxville, they’ve been there so long!!

      • Stephanie Says:

Jerri, I don’t think Or Paz was on HSN as he talks about QVC all the time with so much affection for how it used to be. He does face book videos weekly pushing his website and bringing people into his home and his family partakes when possible. Videos of where he vacations, etc. He is not depending on the few hours QVC gives him, that’s for sure. He is also in TJMaxx on occassrion, and on other websites.

      • Jerri Says:

        Stephanie
Thanks….. I really had brain fog on this one! I think I might be mixing him up with another Israeli designer who had similar jewelry on HSN. I know HSN had a female Israeli jewelry designer for a little bit, but I like Or Paz and the previous guy’s at HSN jewelry better. I like the presence of the organic jewelry. Raw beauty.

  7. Stephanie Says:

Jerri: There is a woman from NY that sells jewelry made in Israel on shop HQ, she has been there for years. Not sure of the name since I don’t watch any more, Passage to Israel maybe. OAP is Sharry I think. sorry for being so vague.

    • Jerri Says:

      Stephanie
No worries…in my brain fog I thought Or Paz had been on HSN! The woman on HQ may have defected from HSN; it’s been a very long time since she was on there. And she wasn’t on there long. Some of her stuff was gold tone mixed with silver, or silver. That’s all I remember. My best guess is she was gone around 2007-ish. I’ll look on HQ, see if I can find her, and if she’s familiar. Her jewelry was not nearly as nice as Or Paz, or the man on HSN I can’t remember. She probably left/was axed due to that.
      Happy Halloween! 🎃🎃🎃🎃
