QVC Bans Shoppers Who Criticize Hosts

November 1, 2017

QVC is apparently cracking down on people who make negative comments about its hosts on Facebook. Seriously? Grow a thicker skin!

And what is the punishment? You can’t shop at the network for 30 days. Brilliant. Your sales have been down for several quarters, so you’re going to stop customers from shopping for a month?

One of our readers tipped us off to this crap, sending us a screenshot from FB where QVC laid down the law to a poster who was critical of Shawn Killinger, who we consider one of the No. 1 home shopping network’s most annoying talents.

“sk (Shawn Killinger)should wear that hat all the time. Such a improvement over her hair!’ was the offending post on QVC’s FB page.

Wow, such a horrendous comment! Oh brother.

Here’s what QVC customer service rep Genevieve had to say in response:

Thank you for reaching out Barbara. We encourage our customers to interact on Facebook and review products, but we do not permit commentary on QVC’s staff or hosts.

Abusive posts will be removed from our timeline and subsequent violations will result in your QVC customer accounting being suspended for 30 days, meaning you’ll be unable to make purchases for 30 days.

If you need any further assistance, please let us know.

That comment has apparently been removed, but some quick thinkers got screen shots of it.

QVC’s Shawn Killinger Makes Page Six

August 24, 2017

Imagine our surprise a few days ago when we were doing our morning ritual, reading the New York Post’s gossip column, Page Six, when we saw a name from QVC pop up.

One of the items talked about a fancy clambake in the Hamptons for a local magazine.

The final line said, “Also in attendance were Jill Martin and QVC’s Shawn Killinger, who showed off her adopted 2-month-old baby girl Jagger Jude.”

Of course, Martin is on QVC with a product line, and Killinger is off spending time with her infant. We’re not quite sure how she warranted a mention in Page Six.

QVC’s Shawn Killinger Adopts Baby

June 22, 2017

Belated congrats to QVC host Shawn Killinger. She and her husband Joe have adopted an adorable newborn baby.

Killinger announced the news on Facebook on Father’s Day, along with some sweet photos. The blonde apologized for missing her 10th anniversary on QVC, and then explained why she was “mysteriously MIA,” as she put it.

“Meet Jagger Jude, born Friday June 9 in California!” Killinger wrote.

“Joe and I are out here adopting a baby girl! She is perfect and a long dream come true. God is so good, His ways so perfect. I won’t be seeing you on Q for most of the summer, but in between feedings and poopy diapers I’ll pop up on social media to share the fun. I’m thrilled, anxious, full of questions, and in awe of women who have done this so gracefully bc I haven’t showered in 3 days…and I’m loving every minute of it! Plus my clothes smell like Dreft baby detergent bc I’m combining loads.”

Her post generated about 14,000 comments from well-wishers.

The news is especially joyous because Killinger, like other women we knew, endured a miscarriage that broke her heart.

So we wish this new mom luck!

QVC Host Shawn Killinger Discusses Her Miscarriage

August 13, 2014

We’re not sure if this is the right term, but condolences — and prayers — to QVC host Shawn Killinger on her recent miscarriage. We wish her all the best and hope her pain is eventually eased.

Killinger talked about her experience on Facebook and on her blog on We applaud her for her honesty and willingness to open up about what happened. She will be returning to the air Sept. 2.

The entire, heartfelt blog is here:

Here is an excerpt from it:

I have always shared ‘my everything’ with you, always been humorously over-honest, unapologetically the over-sharer. I’ve always wanted to keep things real between us, because otherwise what’s the point?

I’ve been slow to do that with something recently, something very painful and private, something I wanted to keep to myself to keep it protected, and untouched by public consumption. But my need for privacy is causing worry, speculation, uncertainty, and in a few isolated cases, fueling some rumors.

My heart doesn’t have the energy for that stuff, so after talking to Joe, we wanted to reach out and explain why you have not seen me.

A few weeks ago, Joe and I lost a baby, a beautiful baby girl. We were almost 5 months pregnant. That is why I had been sitting down during shows, and took a break from Saturdays. I was very close to announcing my pregnancy.

I know you probably wonder why in these situations “we” wait so long, “It’s so wonderful and obvious, why doesn’t she just tell us she’s pregnant already?!”. This is why…………because having to undo the greatest joy with news of a loss, on a very public stage, is even more painful.

Killinger also requested that when she comes back to QVC, viewers not call in to offer their best wishes, condolences, etc.

She is mourning, but wants to be able to move on. And those calls will not help. Please heed her wishes.

QVC Host Shawn Killinger Married Beau Joe Today

April 14, 2013

QVC host Shawn Killinger tied the knot today with her beau Joe.

At least, that’s the word on Facebook. Shawn has certainly created her own brand and persona on QVC, we’ll give that to her.

She posted a photo on Facebook of her getting her hair teased for the big shindig. We wonder if Isaac Mizrahi gave her away.

Anyway, best wishes to her and her new hubby.

Jimmy Fallon’s QVC Debut, 50 Cent’s Goodbye

June 14, 2012

We only saw about the last 15 minutes of QVC’s primetime show with Jimmy Fallon and 50 Cent last night. In fact, we really only saw Fallon.

What we eyeballed was actually pretty well done. Fallon, looking cash (as in casual), was pitching his new DVD, which we think went into advance orders. He talked about meeting the great Bob Dylan, and then performed a song in Dylan’s style, when we tuned in.

Fallon also did a couple of imitations of his favorite comedians, including Adam Sandler.

All in all, it was cute, although that annoying QVC host Shawn Killinger did insist on asking Fallon annoying questions. But he was cool.

The only gander that we got of 50 Cent is when he came out at the end of the show. And he had a big smile on his face.

There was a live audience, which actually gave Fallon a standing-O at the end of his segment.

QVC’s Isaac Mizrahi Is Married, Rick and Shawn’s ‘Anything Goes’ Our Eye, And Lisa Robertson’s New ‘Show’

January 15, 2012

Sorry we haven’t been blogging as much as we should be. The day job is often a day job and night job. So we’ll try to catch-up here.

QVC designer Isaac Mizrahi, 50, and his boyfriend Arnold Germer have gotten hitched, officially. During an appearance on “The Wendy Williams Show,” Mizrahi said he and Germer had gotten married.

The new thing out in West Chester, is having “shows,” not generic segments. So we recently had “Anything Goes With Rick & Shawn,” namely host Rick Domeier and Shawn Killinger. And in February, we can look forward to “The Lisa Robertson Show.”

Lisa Robertson is getting her own show

We didn’t see “Anything Goes,” but looking at the product lineup, not much went.

Here’s the spicy linuep of goods that Rick and Shawn were selling: a battery-operated callus remover; a Rowenta steam iron; Billy Blanks Ultimate Workout DVD; microfiber dusters; a storage set; a hair flat iron; a ceramic fireplace heater; and an air purifier.

Whoppee! Wow, anything goes, ha? A callus remover and a Rowenta? Rick and Shawn must have been having a wild old time. We’re sorry we missed those microfiber dusters.

We can only hope that Robertson’s “show” is better. Here is what she has said on Facebook about it.

Guess what?! This February, a brand-new show is coming to QVC…”The Lisa Robertson Show”! I’m really excited about it. But it’s not just because I’ll be your humble host. Every Friday night, we’re going to give you your own personal magazine/ trunk show/ private party, (all good things 🙂 We’re bringing you amazing ideas and we’ll show you how to make them your own. We’re sitting down with your favorite designers and introducing you to some up-and-coming trendsetters. More details to come in the coming weeks.

Robertson, by the way, is on a two-week vacation to India and Dubai.

Finally, who in their right mind would buy a diet or nutrition product from Kirstie Alley, whose weight has fluctuated in 100-pound swings. Yet QVC is hawking her diet program.

“I can assure you that if you follow this program, you’ll get healthier, lose weight, and not be ‘annoyingly’ hungry,” Alley said on QVC’s website.

Jump-start your weight loss with this fun and engaging program: Kirstie Alley’s Organic Liaison. We have to take a pass on that one.

QVC Host Lisa Robertson Kills On The Red Carpet With Peacock Green Gown

February 27, 2011

We’ll be fair. We criticized QVC host Lisa Robertson’s dress for the home shopping network’s big pre-Oscar party in Beverly Hillls last night. It made her look hippy.

Well, she is more than making up for that dreadful Isaac Mizrahi dress last night. She looks stunning tonight in a gorgeous, two-toned peacock green sleeveless gown with feathers on one side of the bodice. It’s by Mark Zunino, who is Nolan Miller’s partner in a QVC jewelry line.

Robertson looks so fine that when her fellow QVC host Shawn Killinger saw her, she asked, “Are you single?”

Shawn, we didn’t know you rolled that way.

Sorry, Lisa Robertson’s Dress For QVC’s Red Carpet LA Party Makes Her Look Plump

February 26, 2011

We just got in and tuned in to QVC’s Red Carpet pre-Oscar shindig at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills. We’ve got to hand it to QVC — there is a huge crowd there, and when we came in actress Marlee Matlin was using sign language to say something that we missed.

Now QVC jewelry queen Joan Rivers is talking to host Lisa Robertson, hawking sunglasses.

Lisa Robertson, we wished we liked your red carpet dress

Earlier in the day, on Facebook Robertson said she was heading out to get made up for the party five hours before it started. “It takes a village,” she joked, to get her ready to go on-air. So we were looking forward to see how she looked.

Robertson is a beautiful woman, but she is clad in a long beige gown that is pulling against her stomach area and making her look heavy — which we know she isn’t. This unflattering dress is apparently by QVC designer Isaac Mizrahi. Isaac, Isaac, Isaac.

Robertson’s side ponytail is not such a great look, either. And guess who did the hair? QVC vendor Nick Chavez. Nick, Nick, Nick.

We also got a gander at QVC host Shawn Killinger, who is running around with a microphone interviewing the partygoers. She’s wearing a short black babydoll dress, and her boobs are popping out of the top of it.

Now model Camila Alves, actor Matthew McConaughey’s baby mama, is showing off a pretty fringed bag and a huge bag she did for QVC. She is dressed in a beautful black sequined dress, and looks stunning.

Kim and Kourtney Kardashian are being interviewed on the red carpet, and will soon be pitching their QVC clothing line, K-Dash.

And FYI, vendors and hosts from different home shopping networks do fraternize together. Former QVC host Dave King, who is now at ShopNBC, is also in LA. And on his Facebook page he posted a photo of him, Robertson and Laurie Feltheimer, who does the “Hot in Hollywood” line for HSN, at a restaurant.

Designer Isaac Mizrahi Is Way Out Of The Closet: Will QVC Shoppers Take Offense?

October 27, 2010

We were burning the midnight oil last night, and had QVC on while we were writing a story.

Designer Isaac Mizrahi, who has Wednesday’s Today’s Special Value, was on with fat-mouth host Shawn Killinger, who we find frightfully annoying.

But in any event, Mizrahi was talking about how he likes to stay home during the upcoming holidays and relax, with his boyfriend. He said “my boyfriend” at least twice.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that, at least in our book. But the only designer on home shopping that we recall being so out of the closet is the late-great Wayne Scot Lukas, when his appearances — filled with double entendres — on HSN cracked us up.

We couldn’t help but wonder if QVC viewers in the heartland, as we Easterners call it, would take offense at Mizrahi. And then we chided ourselves for making assumptions about the rest of America, when a young gay Rutgers University student committed suicide after his scumbag roommate secretly videotaped him kissing a man in their room.

Our own home state of New Jersey shamed us for that anti-gay tragedy: Who are we to cast stones at the Midwest when our own state is homophobic?

As it turns out, there was something really shocking during the Mizrahi-Killinger show late last night.

At one point, at 1 a.m., Mizrahi and Killinger were both in the sack, covered by cotton cashmere flannel sheets that the curly-topped designer was hawking.

“Oh, we’re in bed together, Shawn,” Mizrahi said. The video is here.

Now that picture really disturbed us, for some reason, much more than seeing Mizrahi in bed with his boyfriend would have.
