April 12, 2012

A number of weeks ago, it actually could be months, HSN CEO Mindy Grossman was mentioned as a contender to become CEO of Avon. But it ain’t going to happen.

On Monday Avon Products Inc. announced that it had appointed a Johnson & Johnson executive, Sherilyn S. (Sheri) McCoy, as
its CEO.

“Ms. McCoy, 53, assumes leadership of Avon following an exceptional 30-year career at Johnson & Johnson, where she rose to become Vice Chairman of the company’s Pharmaceutical, Consumer, Corporate Office of Science & Technology, and Information Technology divisions,” the Avon press release said.

“In this capacity she served on J & J’s Executive Committee with oversight for more than 60% of J & J’s $65 billion in revenues. Her responsibilities included stewardship for a broad portfolio of world-famous consumer brands including brands such as Neutrogena, Aveeno, Lubriderm, Clean & Clear and ROC.”

Avon Is Calling On HSN CEO Mindy Grossman, According To New York Post

February 14, 2012

Avon is calling — HSN CEO Mindy Grossman, according to the New York Post.

Here is the link to the story:

Troubled Avon, facing a scandal in Asia, is reportedly looking at Grossman and two other candidates as replacements for ex-CEO Andrea Jung, The Post business section reported Monday.

“Grossman — a hard-charging exec who has revamped HSN by bringing in celebrities like Mary J. Blige and Emeril Lagasse to hawk products on the TV network — could clean up Avon’s overseas businesses, which have been mired in the bribery scandal and technology snafus, according to one retail insider,” the Post wrote.

Very interesting.
