ShopHQ: New Name, New Hosts

September 9, 2019

We are way, way behind in our blogging folks. Duty at work called, and we are having technical issues in terms of posting our gems on Facebook. Here is an attempt at some catch-up.

Evine has been rechristened once again, this time back to an old moniker, ShopHQ.

The No. 3 home shopping channel put out a press release with this news last month, and in that missive also announced the hires/rehires of a batch of hosts, including Libby Floyd and Daniel Green.

Here is the press release from the horse’s mouth:

Evine Shopping Network Becomes ShopHQ

Celebrates with Three-Day On-Air Event & Launch of New Loyalty Program

MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 21, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — iMedia Brands, Inc. (NASDAQ: IMBI), today completed the on-air rebranding of its flagship, nationally distributed shopping entertainment network to ShopHQ, capping a six-week awareness campaign with its customers across its television, online, mobile and social media platforms.

“Our customer stands at the forefront of our turnaround here,” said Tim Peterman, CEO of iMedia Brands, Inc., “and I am proud of how our management team utilized customer feedback to formulate this five-part rebranding effort designed to improve engagement with new and existing customers.” The changes include:

New name. We now better understand that the 2015 name change from ShopHQ to Evine was confusing and ineffective. We fixed that in a collaborative fashion over the last six weeks with our vendors and customers.

New sets. Live this Wednesday, our customers will see totally redesigned production sets that better reflect the emotive nature of our brands and vibrant network personality.

New hosts. Customers will begin to interact with six new or returning hosts we have recently hired to complement our existing talented team of hosts. We’re pleased to announce the following new additions to the team: Wendi Russo, Daniel Green, Libby Floyd, Amy Hirsh, Jen Vick and Brian Johnson.

New loyalty program. In November, we are planning to roll out an exclusive, new loyalty program called ShopHQ VIP. This innovative new program will enable our customers to earn cash back, enjoy free shipping and participate in discounts at other retailers in our loyalty network.

New website. Over the next three months, our customers will begin to enjoy improvements to the interactive experiences on all our platforms, from desktop to mobile and from home page to emails.

Wendi Russo Returns to Evine, And Libby Does a Cameo

July 23, 2019

Pardon us for being a little late on this but two former Evine-soon-to-be-ShopHQ-again hosts are back at that home shopping network.

Wendi Russo was the first one to return, with a full-time gig, and we rather enjoy her presentations.

And lovely Libby Floyd, who did a stint at Jewelry Television after exiting Evine, appeared back on the Minnesota-based channel earlier this month. We’re weren’t quite sure if she was permanent. But someone on Facebook said she was only appearing for a week, that she didn’t want to relocate from sunny Cali to frozen Minneapolis.

Smart move.

Floyd herself posted on Facebook, “Hey everyone! So fun seeing all my old friends at Evine/ShopHQ today and look forward to shopping with all of you this week.”

She did at least one show with jewelry vendor Michael Valitutti.

Ex-JTV Hosts Libby Floyd, Erin Moseley Find Gigs In Real Estate

December 22, 2014

Two Jewelry Television alums have found news careers — as real estate agents.

First Libby Floyd, who was on JTV for a brief year after a long tenure at ShopHQ, has joined Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage as a Realtor in Cali. Venice, to be precise.

In fact, here is one of her pitches:

“Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage represents the most expensive home in America….it’s a cool $195,000,000. Any takers? I’d be happy to show it to you!” she posted on Facebook.

That would be a tidy commission.

And former JTV host Erin Moseley has a new gig at Alliance Sotheby’s International Realty, as an affiliate broker/Realtor in Knoxville, Tenn.

Curiously enough, Moseley’s bio on the company website doesn’t mention her recent tenure at JTV.

It shouldn’t be too much of a stretch for Floyd and Moseley to do sell real estate. After all, they were sales people in the home shopping world. If you

are a good sales person, you should be able to transfer those skills to sell any product.

We say the same thing in the journalism biz. If you’re a good reporter, you should be able to cover any beat.

Good luck to both these classy ladies.

She wrote:

Busy packing all of my party dresses! Excited to be moving back to CA full-time! I’ve had a great year as a host at JTV and have loved reuniting with so many old friends and making new ones but I’ve decided to head back home to my hubby, my kitty cat and to the beach!

Nov. 13th will be my last day on the air at JTV and I’ll miss shopping with all of you but the surf and sand is calling me! I have lots of new ventures in the works and will post soon but first I will head to London for a royal family wedding! Thanks for all of your love and support!

Here is her blurb from JTV’s website:

Libby has been a jewelry host in the home shopping industry for 15 years. She enjoys everything about hosting – the customers, the jewelry, the live television experience; they are all so exciting and no day is ever the same!

There are no rules in jewelry but I feel a woman can’t go wrong with having a classic white pearl strand, a diamond or Bella Luce tennis bracelet and silver or gold chandelier earrings in their jewelry wardrobe.

We already had the scoop on this, but here is the press release about ShopNBC (now ShopHQ) alum Lobby Floyd joining Jewelry Television.

We’re all excited to welcome her to the team.”

Floyd graduated from the University of South Carolina where she received the Alumni of the Year Award in 2007 for her accomplishments in television.

Another ShopHQ alum has landed: Libby Floyd is going to work at Jewelry Television.

Floyd, who looks more gorgeous every time we see a new photo of her, posted the news on Facebook.

Former QVC-HSN host Judy Crowell had been on then ShopNBC, now ShopHQ, when she came on JTV as the rep for its Stratify line. But that stint ended.

We wish Floyd luck, we liked her on SHopHQ.

Former ShopNBC Host Libby Floyd Has Penned A Romance Novel

August 21, 2012

Former ShopNBC host Libby Floyd has a brand new bag: She’s a romance writer.

Via LinkedIn, we learned that Floyd has published her first romance novel, called “Sparkelicious,” on Chardonnay Press.

“It is now available on Amazon.com,” she said. “I also have several other novels in the works.”

In addition to ShopNBC, Floyd has appeared on Food Network, The Shopping Channel and Shop at Home.

She joins a growing list of home shopping hosts who have intruded onto our turf: writing.

That group includes QVC’s Rick Domeier, Kathy Levine and Lisa Mason, as well as HSN vets Dan Dennis and Paul Deasy.

ShopNBC Host Libby Floyd Exits, Catch Her On The Food Network

February 7, 2012

One of our favorite hosts on ShopNBC, who QVC’s Shawn Killinger could take a few tips from, has flown the coop. We’re talking about Libby Floyd, who has been at the No. 3 home shopping channel for as long as we’ve been watching it.

We shot an email to ShopNBC about it, but haven’t gotten a response yet.

Former ShopNBC host Libby Floyd heads to Food Network

But Floyd addressed the issue on Facebook after getting questions about her absence, saying it was her call to exit.

“Thanks for checking in,” Floyd posted. “No, it was my decision to leave so I could pursue other creative ventures. And, I’m also not into the cold MN winters! But, you can catch me on TV next weekend on Sunday, Feb. 12th at 9 p.m. eastern, on the Food Network on ‘Worst Cooks In America.’ I’ll be cooking with Bobby Flay. Plus, I also have other things ‘cookin.’ Please keep in touch. Thanks.”

Food Network, huh? That sounds like a pretty gig to us, Libby.

And we can’t blame her for wanting to haul ass out of Minneapolis.

Lots of luck, Libby.
