Sheryl Crow — Talented, Gorgeous And Over 40 — Is Giving A Live Concert On QVC Monday

July 15, 2010

One of our favorites, Sheryl Crow, is coming to QVC.

The woman whose talent, hair, men, beauty and hipness we envy will be performing live on QVC this Monday at 10 p.m.

Crow is part of a growing list of popular artists, such as Justin Bieber, who have come to the No. 1 home shopping network to perform and sell their newest CDs. In the case of Crow, her new release is called “100 Miles From Memphis.”

Crow recently performed on QVC UK, according to QVC’s Facebook page. That’s where we learned Crow would be on QVC next week.

There is so much to admire about Crow. She is a breast cancer survivor. She adopted a child as a single mother. She is gorgeous and youthful looking, a rocker, yet is in her 40s.

We think she’s gone out with Kid Rock, who we love. Anyway, she did a great duet with him. And her song “My Favorite Mistake” is one of our favorite songs.

Here is QVC’s press release on Crow, which we just saw. QVC posted it Thursday.

SHERYL CROW “HEADS HOME” WITH NEW RELEASE

Nine-Time Grammy Award-Winning Artist to Debut Her Much-Anticipated New Album

100 MILES FROM MEMPHIS with Special QVC Performance

WEST CHESTER, Pa. (July 15, 2010) – Who says you can never go home? After conquering the rock and pop worlds with six Top 10 albums, iconic singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow is headed back to her Southern roots with her new album 100 Miles from Memphis. To celebrate the release of what many critics are hailing as “her best album to date,” the Missouri native is scheduled to appear on QVC Monday, July 19 at 10 PM (ET) for a special live performance.

During the QVC Presents QSessions Live Featuring Sheryl Crow broadcast, Crow will not only give fans a sneak peek of her highly anticipated new album but also take them behind-the-scenes of the journey that led her back “home.” She will offer viewers the opportunity to order the CD, which comes with an additional bonus CD created especially for QVC customers containing 6 previously released hits, before street date.

“100 Miles from Memphis is one of the most exciting releases of the year and marks a pivotal moment in Sheryl’s career,” said John Kelly, vice president of merchandising for QVC. “We are thrilled that she is debuting this much-talked-about new CD on QVC and that she is bringing our viewers inside her world with a special performance.”

100 Miles from Memphis is Crow’s seventh album and its title reflects a statement of purpose, both musical and emotional, that marks her long-awaited return to the sounds that first drew her to making music. With the help of critically acclaimed producers Doyle Bramhall II and Justin Stanley, the album features an eclectic mix of songs. Standout tracks include the CD’s first single “Summer Day,” which is already topping the charts, as well as innovative renditions of classic top hits, including Terence Trent D’Arby’s “Sign Your Name” and a special tribute to Michael Jackson with The Jackson Five’s “I Want You Back.”

“This album was an important project for me because it allowed me to delve back into the music and sounds that I grew up with,” said Crow. “I am excited to have the opportunity to share my music, and the story behind this special record, with QVC’s viewers. It’s going to be an amazing show.”

100 Miles from Memphis, with the special bonus CD containing previously released hits (QVC Item #F08971), will be available through QVC starting July 19.

Justin Bieber Will Unveil His New Album with Live Performance on QVC

March 5, 2010

Teen singer Justin Bieber — who recently appeared at the Grammy Awards, the Super Bowl and even the White House — will premiere his new album, “My World 2.0,” on QVC March 9.

The 16-year-old platinum-selling Island Records artist is scheduled to appear next Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. and next Friday, March 12, at 10 p.m. for live performances that will include songs from his new CD.

“It’s cool to be launching my new album on QVC,” Bieber said in a canned statement. “Where else can I perform live and reach more than 98 million homes with my music? It’s just an incredible opportunity for me.”

During these QVC Presents QSessions Live broadcasts, Bieber will also offer viewers the opportunity to purchase “My World 2.0,” which has been specially packaged for QVC with an exclusive bonus DVD two weeks before it drops.

“This may be one of our most exciting QSessions Live broadcasts yet,” said Rich Yoegel, QVC’s director of merchandising. “Not only is Justin making headlines with his high-profile appearances and ever-growing fan base but his record-breaking sales figures have made him one of the most successful artists in the business today.”

Bieber, who was signed to the Island Def Jam Music Group at the age of 14, is one of the industry’s fastest (and youngest) rising stars. He is currently the only solo artist in history to send four consecutive songs to the Billboard Top 40 and his latest single “Baby” (featuring Ludacris) recently debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in its first week of release.

The chart-topping artist recently cemented his place among music’s elite when he was asked to sing Lionel Richie’s original opening line to “We Are The World” for the famous remake featuring such A-list performers as Pink, Barbara Streisand, Celine Dion, Miley Cyrus, The Jonas Brothers and many more.

My World 2.0 will be available through QVC starting March 9 at QVC.com or 800.345.1515, while supplies last.
