ShopNBC Launches Online Cellular Store That’s Powered By Simplexity

ShopNBC Wedneday unveiled the Cellular Store, featuring mobile devices and service plans.

The new online destination at is powered by Simplexity, an online retailer of cell phones and home services.’s Cellular Store offers wireless devices and service plans. Customers now have the ability to research and buy mobile devices, accessories and service plans through the Cellular Store.

It has more than 400 items from wireless providers across the country, so visitors can browse hundreds of wireless devices from LG, BlackBerry, Samsung and more by phone type, service provider, or rate plan as well as order accessories for mobile devices. Users can also upgrade their existing cell phone and service plans with ease.

“We are pleased to collaborate with Simplexity on this expanded Web product initiative for our consumer electronics category,” John Schrogie, ShopNBC’s Director of Housewares and Consumer Electronics, said in a prepared statement. “Through the Cellular Store, we are able to enhance our premium shopping experience for customers seeking the newest wireless brands and products.”

Simplexity’s technology solutions include merchandising, procurement, customer service, billing, customer relationship marketing, order processing and cell phone activations for the largest U.S. carriers.

It operates private label Web sites for some of the largest names in retail, including Best Buy, RadioShack, Newegg, Sears, and Dell, as well as Wirefly, the leading one-stop cell phone and wireless plan comparison shopping site that has been awarded “Best of the Web” by Forbes magazine and “Best in Overall Customer Experience” by Keynote Systems.

On The Eve Of Third-Quarter Earnings, ShopNBC Racks Up Big Sales With 24-Hour Consumer Electronics Event

Consumer electronics are doing well for home shopping channels like ShopNBC, which had its single largest sales day since mid-2008 this past Sunday with its “24-Hour Holiday Electronic Gift Celebration,” the company said Monday.

The one-day sales event generated about $3.6 million in net revenue while driving significant active customer activity with a 37 percent new-customer count. That was the network’s biggest score since June 22, 2008.

The ShopNBC 24-Hour Holiday Electronic Gift Celebration featured gift ideas from HDTVs to notebook technology packages. ShopNBC hosts and expert guests demonstrated an array of brand-name electronics including HP, Mitsubishi, iLuv and iHome.

“We are pleased to announce the success of this sales event, which showcased the most consumer electronics products ever featured in one day across our multichannel platform,” Kris Kulesza, ShopNBC’s senior vice president of merchandising, said in a prepared statement. “Viewers responded strongly by voting with their wallets. New and active customers are reacting favorably to our initiatives. We look forward to continuing the momentum of unlocking our customer growth potential.”

ShopNBC Caters To Foodies With New Gourmet Cook Shows

ShopNBC is expanding and looking to hook foodies.
The home shopping channel will offer its first-ever “ShopNBC Cooks” gourmet food gift event, which will feature 12 hours of expert guests, gourmet foods, Wüsthof Cutlery, Le Creuset, ProBake Bakeware, professional-quality kitchen essentials, holiday gifts.
The Network will also premiere  “The Culinary Institute of America” — offering master chef created cookware, tools, and Culinary Boot Camps.
The event launches Friday, Oct.  9 at 12 a.m. ET with the “Kitchen Essentials” and “Gourmet Kitchen” shows, followed by an additional 10 hours of programming beginning at 12 p.m. ET. As part of the network’s ShopNBC Anywhere initiative, customers can shop via cable and satellite TV; mobile devices (iPhone and iPod touch); online at, and streamed live at www.ShopNBC.TV.

The “Gourmet Holiday Food” show series during the event will feature food options perfect for holiday gifting and entertaining, including Hancock lobster tails and lobster rolls and Heartbrand Akaushi Kobe sirloin steaks.

Along with Kessler and Pickover, Master Chef Ron DeSantis will present products designed by the world-famous master chefs at the college. including 7-ply cookware, Vita-Mix blenders, and cutlery.
