Destiny’s Child Michelle Williams Is Destined For Evine Live

September 18, 2015

Dang, we can’t keep up with all this home shopping news!

Evine Live just announced that Michelle Williams, formerly of Destiny’s Child, will preview her “Believe at Home” line on the network on Sept. 23.

Williams — a Grammy winner, singer, songwriter and actress — will give fans a sneak peek at her collection of home products, with the full line debuting this spring.

Evine Live went with the hype, calling Destiny’s Child “the biggest pop group of all time.” We don’t know about that.

“Michelle’s broad reach in the Pop, Gospel and R&B worlds coupled with her approachability and sophisticated sense of style make her a perfect addition to the Evine Live family and further expands our assortment of ‘brand with fans,'” Russell Nuce, the network’s chief strategy officer, said in a canned statement.

“Michelle’s new collection not only offers our customers incredible value and quality, but also helps us expand our home assortment and fill a missing niche in the category.”

“I’m so excited to come to Evine Live and share my passion for design with viewers,” Williams said in her canned statement.

“Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve been intrigued by home décor. I remember watching my mother and grandmother hand-stitch quilts and sew their own curtains and bedding. That’s really where the inspiration for this collection began.”

Here’s the boilerplate from the press release:

Inspired by her grandmother and mother who made beautiful hand-made items for their family, and her world travels as an actress and musician, the line is a timeless and unique collection of home products that embody Michelle’s style and passion for design. During the September 23 preview, Michelle will feature several items, including a duvet set and embroidered sheet set. The full collection will be revealed during the official premiere, planned for Spring 2016.

Michelle first rose to fame as a member of the internationally acclaimed female pop group Destiny’s Child. She has sold 150 million records and received more than 150 awards, including three Grammy awards, Billboard Music Awards, MOJO and many other accolades. In addition, Michelle is also an accomplished solo music artist, topping the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart and Billboard Hot Dance chart.

She released her first album in over five years, Journey to Freedom, which showcased the singer’s natural talent and versatility. She has also captivated audiences on theatrical stages and in television, appearing in the hit Broadway musicals “Aida,” “The Color Purple” and “Chicago.” Michelle is represented by Holly Carter, President of Relevé Entertainment.

Comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres will launch, E.D. On Air, a seasonal home collection created especially for QVC, on Oct. 24, the home shopping network said Wednesday.

DeGeneres will broadcast live from the Los Angeles set of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” to debut the line.

Here’s part of the spiel from the press release:

E.D. On Air will bring together DeGeneres’ love of design, home décor and holiday gift giving across multiple product categories.

Actress Linda Dano Returns To QVC With Spring Home Decor, Jewelry

April 26, 2010

Linda Dano

Actress Linda Dano, who previewed her spring home collection last week, will be back on QVC this Friday at 7 p.m.

Dano will be discussing the new trends she saw covering the New York City trade shows; her “new nest” in the Manhattan East Side museum district; and what new celebrity home she just completed! (Does the name Rosie O’Donnell ring a bell?).

This week Dano will be offering item such as a bamboo bistro table and chairs, as well as a new version of her faux book end table, a softcolored embroidered pillow and throw, the return of her zebra rug, and a set of oversized zebra napkins and gemstone napkin rings.

The star is also bringing more jewelry to QVC, and will have a version of her Y necklace in springtime colors this week.

To promote her QVC shows, Dano appeared on “Good Day New York” on WNEW-TV last week and she will be speaking with Joan Hamburg on WOR AM radio Wednesday, our birthday.

QVC has given Dano the go-ahead for her first Christmas show.

Linda Dano Back With Home Collection, And A Piece Of Jewelry, On QVC This Week

Linda Dano

Emmy-winning actress Linda Dano will be back with her Home Collection for QVC Thursday, and there will be a small surprise on the show. She will also be offering one piece of jewelry, a chunky resin “Y” necklace that comes in red or black.

In addition to several traditional segments during the day Thursday, Dano will be part of a Reinvent Your Home Panel on “You’re Home with Jill” at 10 p.m.

While working full time on “Another World,” Dano was the original co-host of Lifetime Television’s “Attitudes” (first with Nancy Glass, next with Dee Kelly and later, Jerry Pennacoli), a forerunner of ABC’s “The View.” She launched “Putting It Together with Linda Dano,” one of QVC’s first successful fashion accessory shows and the template for shows like “What Not To Wear.”

Dano returned to QVC in 2007 with her Home Collection. She loves the live television format and her ability to connect, demonstrate and “stage” different looks using her unique, functional and affordable accessories.

With new items being seen for the first time this week and customer favorites returning, Dano will be live on-air to answer questions.

“In high school, I wasn’t on stage as an actor, I was designing and painting the scenery,” Dano said in a prepared statement.

A few lucky breaks in California led to a successful career as a model, the “new talent department” at 20th Century Fox Studios, primetime television, film and a move East to marry the late advertising exec Frank Attardi.

“Restoring our 17th Century Farmhouse, Frank and I became immersed in the history, craftsmanship and the versatility of the early settlers,” she said in a statement.

Known as “Felicia Gallant” on NBC’s “Another World,” Dano went on to make television history as the only American actress to seamlessly change networks and spend five years criss crossing all four ABC daytime dramas as the same character, “Dr. Rae Cummings.”
