‘Orange County Housewives’ Hubby Headed To Evine Live

April 10, 2015

Now not only the women from the various iterations of Bravo’s “Real Housewives” franchises are flocking to home shopping networks to hawk products, the men are as well.

Dr. Terry Dubrow, the plastic surgeon who often appeared with his wife, actress Heather Dubrow, on “The Real Housewives of Orange County” now has a gig on Evine Live.

Dubrow, who also has his own show on E! called “Botched,” will be on Evine Live selling Consult Beaute, a line of anti-aging skin products. The missus will be appearing live with him for the premiere of the stuff on April 18 and 19.

“For close to 20 years, Dr. Dubrow has built a reputation as one of Southern California’s most respected plastic surgeons, offering a personalized approach to each of his patients. We’re thrilled to introduce Dr. Dubrow’s exclusive line of products to our customers,” Evine Live CEO Mark Bozek said in a canned statement. “We’re excited to add Consult Beaute to EVINE Live’s growing list of exclusive and proprietary brands.”

The doc had his own two cents, as well.

“I’m looking forward to sharing Consult Beaute with Evine Live’s customers,” Dubrow said. “While plastic surgery isn’t for everyone, every woman deserves to feel beautiful. I’m an advocate for minimal treatment that helps produce natural-looking results. I believe Consult Beaute’s innovative approach to anti-aging will help enhance the natural beauty and look of vitality customers are in search of without surgery.”

Dubrow helped develop Consult Beaute as an alternative for women like us, who are too scared and broke to go under the knife.

The press release says:

While most anti-aging products only offer topical creams, Consult Beaute goes one step further. The brand’s internal, external approach to beauty utilizes a two part system that works by combining age-fighting topical products with ingestible supplements that help support the health of skin, hair and nails.

With a practice based in Newport Beach, he made his television debut on Fox’s “The Swan,” and later went on to appear on Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Orange County.”

In 2014 he began starring in E!’s reality series “Botched” repairing plastic surgeries gone wrong. In addition to his television career, Dr. Dubrow is a board-certified plastic surgeon and former chief resident of plastic surgery at UCLA’s School of Medicine.

NeNe Leakes Debuts HSN Clothing Line In July

April 9, 2014

NeNe Leakes, a mouthy blond cast member of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” has joined the seemingly never-ending gang of celebrities that do lines for HSN.

Leakes, whose fashion sense leaves a lot to be desired, will debut her clothing collection in July.

She posted the news on Instagram Sunday, and has already drunk the HSN Kool-Aid, announcing that she has joined “the HSN family.” That’s a popular phrase for celebs who drum up collection for the home shopping network.

“Not only will I join Cirque Du Soleil #zumanity I have also joined the #HSN family with my amazing fabulous clothing line! Available in July sizes 2 to 24,” Leakes said.

A number of women from the the various Bravo “Housewive” franchise shoes have done lines for HSN.

We’ll see how NeNe fares.

‘Beverly Hills Housewife’ Kyle Richards Coming To HSN

January 22, 2014

Well, we missed this. One of our favorite “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” Kyle Richards, is doing a clothing line for HSN.

Kyle Richards

Entertainment Weekly, which we normally don’t read, reported that Richards’ collection will debut on the home shopping network Feb. 25.

There will be eight pieces in the Kyle by Kyle Richards line, ranging in price from $70 to $200.

Those are a lot cheaper price points than the items Richards wears on her Bravo show.

We recently checked out the website for Richards’ store in Beverly Hills, and its was way pricey. The necklace she often wears on the show, which has a huge teardrop crystal pendant, is $500. The sexy red dress she wore on a recent show was over $1,000.

‘Bevery Hills Housewife’ Lisa Vanderpump Loves Her Pamela McCoy Faux Fur

January 28, 2013

Our favorite “Real Housewife of Beverly Hills,” Lisa Vanderpump, rocks a Pamela McCoy fake fur coat.

New JTV vendor McCoy posted a photo on Facebook of Vanderpump, now star of her own Bravo spinoff series, “Vanderpump Rules,” wearing one of her creations. There was apparently a shot on Twitter of Vanderpump wearing it, and it drew a lot of compliments, according to Vanderpump.

McCoy, an ex-ShopNBC host, did a popular line of faux fur coats for that home shopping channel when she was there.

Next week McCoy is debuting a diamond jewelry line on JTV, and fans of her fur coat collection are clamoring for her to resume production of that line.

Vanderpump, a classy Brit who has been married for ages to her doting husband, co-owns the West Hollywood restaurant Sur.

QVC’s Rachel Zoe And HSN’s Todd English Featured In Page Six Gossip Column

August 28, 2012

The New York Post’s addictive gossip column, Page Six, had two juicy tidbits about home shopping celebrity vendors on Monday.

The lead item was about QVC vendor and red-carpet stylist Rachel Zoe, and its headline was “Label’s doing not Zoe well.”

The column claimed that the upscale clothing line that razor-thin Zoe has debuted with Li & Fung is flopping. Page Six also claims that Zoe’s show on Bravo, “The Rachel Zoe Project,” may not get a fifth season pickup.

Playboy chef Todd English

The column asserted that Zoe’s fancy apparel line is not selling well at the kinds of places where we can’t afford to shop, such as Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdale’s.

And a Page Six perennial favorite, celebrity chef and HSN vendor Todd English, may be getting his own reality show on E! Entertainment Television. The show would center on English and his restaurant kingdom, which includes Olives, Ca Va and the Plaza Food Hall, according to Page Six, which calls English “the playboy chef.”

The column also noted that English’s ex-fiancee, the woman he left at the altar, Erica Wang, has been charged with shoplifting from Sephora and Ralph Lauren.

‘Blow Out’ Reality Show Star Jonathan Antin Lands On ShopNBC

August 20, 2011

Jonathan Antin, one of the few straight hair stylists in Beverly Hills, is now hawking hair gear on ShopNBC.

Antin, who was the often weepy star of the Bravo reality show “Blow Out,” at one point had a hair product line on QVC. His abrasive dealings with QVC, in fact, were part of the show.

We just noticed that Antin has the Today’s Top Value on ShopNBC, a “spinning brush and blow dryer all in one.” It’s from Conair.

‘Sunday Is A Xanax Night’ For QVC Designer Isaac Mizrahi, And Boy Can We Relate

December 27, 2010

On Sundays QVC design guru Isaac Mizrahi likes to have breakfast, oatmeal, at our favorite Manhattan restaurant, Pastis.

That’s what we learned tonight after finally getting around to reading The Style section of The Sunday New York Times, where the Grey Lady gave us a blow-by-blow account of the curly-topped designer’s “Sunday Routine.”

Of course, when we go to Pastis, which is in the Meatpacking District, it’s not for oatmeal. It’s at Happy Hour, for Bombay Sapphire martinis, with olives, to wash down our steak frites.

Pastis, where QVC's Isaac Mizrahi dines on oatmeal and we swill over-priced Bombay Sapphire martinis

The feature acknowledges right off the bat that Mizrahi has a lifestyle collection on QVC, and that he co-hosts the Bravo program “The Fashion Show” with model/entrepreneur Iman, who is an HSN vendor.

Mizrahi likes to go for a morning swim, and then has to wait for his boyfriend, actor Arnold Germer, to get up so they can walk their dogs. Germer lives a few blocks from Mizrahi in the Village. Mizrahi’s dog Harry has been featured in a number of the designer’s QVC items.

Mizrahi enjoys going to museums and the movies on Sundays (as do we, we saw “Black Swan” today, and thought it was great).

He’s a fan of Il Cantinori, another Manhattan eatery, and on Sunday nights Mizrahi is an avid HBO viewer, saying, “I’m mad about ‘True Blood,’ and I even got into ‘Boardwalk.'”

Good selections, Isaac.

We also tip our hat to you for this comment to The Times: “I made no bones about loving television.”

Hell, we don’t either.

And we’re with him on this one, too: “Sunday is a Xanax night for me.”

But Isaac, please lose the head scarf.

With QVC Designer Isaac Mizrahi Expands His Presence In Greenwich Village With $2 Million Condo

November 20, 2010

QVC designer Isaac Mizrahi is buying new digs in the Greenwich Village, according to the New York Post.

Mizrahi, who is also hosting Bravo’s “The Fashion Show” with HSN vendor Iman, has a contract to buy a condo on West 12th Street, where he already has a place. The building boasts actress Cameron Diaz as a resident.

Gee, we’re surprised he didn’t look at our garden apartment complex in Montclair. Who’d you rather have as a neighbor, Diaz or The Homeshoppingista?

According to the Post, Mizrahi is paying more than $2 million for the new unit, and he plans to combine it with the one he bought earlier this year for $1.1 million. Sounds like it will be quite a crib.

The story notes that Mizrahi will share the expanded digs with his partner Arnold Germer and “their adorable dog, Jack.”

TV Guide CEO Jack Kliger sold Mizrahi both places, according to the Post.

Visit ‘Jerseylicious’ Olivia And Tracy’s 46 Lounge, See Jewelry From ‘Real Housewives Of New Jersey,’ Party And Contribute To A Great Cause

June 7, 2010

Tonight you have a chance to do a good deed, drink, get to see great jewelry and party in the favorite club of Olivia Blois Sharpe and Tracy DiMarco of “Jerseylicious.” That’s our idea of a great time.

What’s it all about?

We know Christine Benedict, a cervical cancer survivor from Wayne, N.J., because we profiled her for NewJerseyNewsroom.com. Her home clean-up will be featured June 16 on Style Network’s “Clean House.”

Christine sent us an invite to a benefit tonight, Monday, for the Cure Tay-Sachs Foundation, in memory of Elise ten Berge. The pretty Garden State girl was a victim of this disease.

Christine and her family

Christine’s friend, jewelry designer Zen Jen Mirman, is hosting the charity event at the 46 Lounge in Totowa. N.J., the scene of many a shouting match between Olivia and Tracy on “Jerseylicious,” the Style Network hit. Mirman’s “Zen jewelz by: jen m” pieces were featured on an episode of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.”

We believe that Zen Jen will be selling her jewely at the benefit, and Christine will be reading tarot cards. She recently read our cards, and was right on the money.

Forgive and forget, the cards said, even if you were betrayed. Mmmmm, we wonder what that refers to? (Christine also told us during our reading that we have a very enjoyable carnal interlude coming up this summer. We can’t wait.)

There will also be entertainment at the Tay-Sachs Foundation benefit, with singer Josh London performing.

See Tracy and Olivia's 46 Lounge

The cover charge for the benefit is $55, which we admit is a little steep. But we’re going, and we’re not working full-time yet, just doing freelance. But it’s a good cause, and a chance to get some good karma cooking.

The event runs from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the 46 Lounge, 300 Route 46, Totowa, N.J. There is a cash bar, and credit cars will be accepted at the door.
