QVC Promotes ‘Remote’ Dave Caputo To Vice President Of Content Production: Our Tip Is Don’t Shoot In Arizona In The Summer Again

October 6, 2009

QVC has promoted Dave Caputo, moving him up the corporate ladder from director to vice president of content production, the network said Tuesday.

In his new role, Caputo will continue to plan, direct and manage the development of all video content for QVC. He will also continue to oversee the company’s remote productions team, which travels across the globe to shoot segments for QVC.

QVC credited Caputo with helping to build and evolve the company’s remote production operations. For the past 14 years, QVC has taken its show on the road to give customers access to otherwise exclusive events, including Fashion Week in New York City and the 56th Presidential Inauguration in Washington.

We guess he’s the guy that had host Jane Treacy sweating it out in 100-plus degree heat in Arizona for a Southwestern jewelry show. The QVC crew is lucky it didn’t get heat stroke. Well, they say that dry heat…

“Dave is a strong, credible and savvy leader. He continually strives to improve the organization and its impact on our business and customers,” said Angie Simmons, QVC’s executive vice president of multichannel platforms, to whom Caputo reports. “His leadership will be instrumental as we identify additional markets and new concepts to expand our programming presence.”

Caputo joined QVC in 1992 and has since held positions of increasing responsibility within the company’s Broadcasting Operations function, including director of studio and remote operations.

Caputo earned his bachelor’s degree from Kutztown University, Kutztown, Pa.
