QVC Bans Shoppers Who Criticize Hosts

QVC is apparently cracking down on people who make negative comments about its hosts on Facebook. Seriously? Grow a thicker skin!

And what is the punishment? You can’t shop at the network for 30 days. Brilliant. Your sales have been down for several quarters, so you’re going to stop customers from shopping for a month?

One of our readers tipped us off to this crap, sending us a screenshot from FB where QVC laid down the law to a poster who was critical of Shawn Killinger, who we consider one of the No. 1 home shopping network’s most annoying talents.

“sk (Shawn Killinger)should wear that hat all the time. Such a improvement over her hair!’ was the offending post on QVC’s FB page.

Wow, such a horrendous comment! Oh brother.

Here’s what QVC customer service rep Genevieve had to say in response:

Thank you for reaching out Barbara. We encourage our customers to interact on Facebook and review products, but we do not permit commentary on QVC’s staff or hosts.

Abusive posts will be removed from our timeline and subsequent violations will result in your QVC customer accounting being suspended for 30 days, meaning you’ll be unable to make purchases for 30 days.

If you need any further assistance, please let us know.

That comment has apparently been removed, but some quick thinkers got screen shots of it.

    Dear QVC:
Such are the perils of the internet. Me thinks that you have forgotten the definition of social media. It is unfettered. Anything you “punish” people for on one of these platforms is called censorship. If you don’t like this, then stick to culling your own forums.

The epitome of asinine!!! And their prices keep skyrocketing!! Soon it won’t be necessary!! It Seems many viewers are banning QVC and their unwatchable hosts!! 😝

  3. Claudette Says:

I have recently stopped shopping at QVC and now use Nordstrom. They offer free shipping and returns. They have many beauty products I enjoy and send free samples. Plus I don’t have to listen or watch annoying hosts hawking the same old stuff. Always the same old same old stuff.

  4. Ann Says:

That was a fake fb page that was set up on 10/25/2017 and isn’t a verified QVC social media page. QVC’s social reps always reply back to posters using the verified QVC fb page. That is being said. On social media pages QVC controls they shouldn’t allow the hosts to be verbally attacked like they do. Sadly so called adults don’t know the difference between constructive criticism and spewing hate filled rants.

QVC certainly have a high opinion of themselves if they think they don’t need customers who do something as tame as make fun of Shawn K.’s hair. I refer to David V. as Dancing Bear in private messaging; someone just dared me to do it on a qvc forum! But I’ve got Germack coming …

Zappos and Nordstrom no shipping either way! Christopher & Banks no shipping to you if you use their charge account! And of course good ole Amazon. Lots of choices now much better than QVC

I personally happen to LOVE Shawn and LOVE QVC even more now IF this article is not a bunch of trash talk. I believe a good company defends its employees when they are being attacked. ESPECIALLY when they have done NOTHING wrong! If you don’t like them, don’t watch. Its that simple!
