Evine Eyes Studio Space In NY, Beverly Hills, Post Says

It appears that Evine is looking beyond the cold, snowy landscape of Minnesota.

The New York Post reported that the No. 3 home shopping network is seeking out studio space in the Big Apple and Beverly Hills.

The goal is to make it easier for celebs to appear on the network to hawk their wares. Seriously, who wants to fly to Minneapolis in the winter?

We suspect that Evine’s newest investors, designer Tommy Hilfiger and record mogul Tommy Mottola, are critical to this plan. They are among a group of investors that just poured $10 million into Evine, cheddar that will apparently foot the bill for new studios.

According to the Post, Evine is looking to have a street-level studio where the public could peer in the see the home shopping network’s broadcasts.

As the tabloid pointed out, this may give Evine a bit of a leg up on QVC and HSN, where vendors have to hoof it to West Chester, Pa., and St. Petersburg, Fla., to appear on-air.

Having a studio in the Los Angeles area would indeed be smart. Especially since Minnesota winters are so harsh. Vendors would probably welcome it.
I can’t get over how Evine has at once terrible ideas on one side, and great ones on the other. Please revamp your host list and back off with the invicta watches. 10-12 years ago you were so much better. Just MHO.

I agree. A Beverly Hills studio would make it so much easier for west coast and southwest based vendors to travel.
And you’re so right….Evine comes up with gems like this idea, and yet they have fallen sharply. Their hosts and product lineup (minus too many watches, lol) was so great back in the early 2000s. It started to slip around 2009-2010. Negative host changes, getting rid of good clothing/shoe/accessory lines, getting rid of home accessories, and adding MORE watches! Also, their customer service reps are rude and dismissive.
So in addition to a west coast studio, they need to work on the “meat and potatoes”.
