We love the Southwest, cowboy boots and margaritas, but we’ve never cottoned to country music. But QVC apparently does.
The home shopping network this week said that it broadcast live from the Academy of Country Music Festival tonight, Friday.
The release says:
Tune in to “QVC Celebrates the 50th Annual ACM Awards” on Friday, April 17 at 10 PM (ET) as the world’s leading video and ecommerce retailer captures all of the excitement as the Academy of Country Music (ACM) prepares for its 50th Annual Awards in Arlington, Texas. With performances from some of country music’s biggest stars as the backdrop, QVC will be on site to commemorate the Academy’s five decades of country music.
Six-time ACM Award-winner Clint Black is QVC’s guest to co-host the show along with Carolyn Gracie.
In celebration of the 50th ACM Awards, QVC is hawking a three-disc set titled “Now That’s What I Call ACM Awards 50 Years.”
The album features a collection of recordings from artists such as Alabama, Clint Black, Faith Hill, Miranda Lambert, Loretta Lynn, Tim McGraw, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban and many more.
As an added bonus, shoppers will receive a third disc created especially for QVC.
“At QVC, we aim to provide our shoppers with a backstage pass to some of today’s most popular musical acts,” said Karen Fonner, QVC’s vice president of content marketing and programming. “Teaming up with the Academy of Country Music allows us to showcase the top hits from some of country music’s biggest stars and share all of the excitement of the 50th Annual ACM Awards with our viewers.”
Those attending the Academy of Country Music Festival will have the opportunity to check out QVC firsthand. Fans can capture all the fun of the festival in a special GIF photo booth and HALO, a leader in portable power, will be providing a Portable Power Charging Station to ensure that phones stay charged throughout all of the excitement.
In addition, Q the Music™ complimentary music download cards will be distributed to increase awareness of QVC’s new music initiative that makes downloading music easier than ever. Any Q the Music purchase syncs directly to an existing music library. Shoppers can purchase “Now That’s What I Call ACM Awards 50 Years” or music from their other favorite artists by visiting qvc.com/music.
