We had a busy Thursday night, but we caught part of “Jersey Shore” Snooki’s two-hour show on HSN, getting to see the perfume, slippers, sunglasses, purses and big and small “Crocodily” stuffed animals she was hawking.
She had a ton of sellouts and a load of fans calling in, from Joisey to Denver.
Her appearance on “A Very Snooki Holiday Gift Special” was pleasingly surprising.
Unlike her slutty persona on the hit MTV reality show, Snooki — i.e. Nicole Polizzi — looked good. Her hair was sleek and pretty, with no poof on the top. Her eye makeup was not caked on like a Midwesterner’s stereotype of a Jersey Girl. It was natural, and she looked pretty.
She even seemed to exhibit some self-awareness and irony at times.
Our favorite item was Crocodily, a stuffed crocodile that Snooki explained she won at a arcade, which we presume was on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights. Snooki has hopped into bed, totally drunk, holding Crocodily tight on “Jersey Shore” many a night.
“This is like my best friend, and it had a child,” Snooki said of the stuffed toy, which came in small for $20 and large for $35. Both sold out.
She was also selling “Pinky-Up Animal” sunglasses. Asked by HSN host Amy Morrison what “pinky-up” meant, Snooki said if you are holding a cup “with your pinky up, we still look classy.”
We also liked it when Snooki seemed to be yanking Morrison’s chain, telling her “you look like a guidette with those” when the host tried on a pair of sunglasses.
The brunette “meatball” was also offering slippers, which she said could be unisex.
“My boyfriend Jionni wears my slippers,” Snooki said.
We’re sure he’ll be thrilled that she let that cat out of the bag.
At one point, Snooki said, “I know when I go to the club, I love to laugh and go crazy.”
That’s the understatement of the year: Jionni broke up with with her the last season of “Jersey Shore” after she lifted up her skirt while dancing at a club in Italy and exposed her VJJ to everyone.
Panties are not a piece of apparel that Snooki seems to wear very often.
For some reason that Snooki couldn’t fathom, her antics at the club upset Jionni.
Her perfume, which came with an animal-patterned bag, sold 8,000 units, which sounds pretty good.
Avid fans of “Jersey Shore” may have wanted to pick up Snooki’s three-piece Christmas tree ornament set, which included one of Snooki, The Situation and DJ Pauly D. But that was another gift that sold out.
