Yes We Think He’s Sexy: Rod Stewart To Perform Live On HSN

Now here is an impressive “get” for HSN: Singer Rod Stewart will be performing live on the home shopping network next Saturday, Oct. 9.

The Stewart reveal came just a week after HSN announced a deal with another pop music talent, Mariah Carey.

HSN super host Colleen Lopez broke the Rod news on Facebook Sunday night.

“I’m over the moon!,” she wrote. “Rod Stewart will be live on HSN… 8:00 pm eastern!! Hope you can make it a date – you’ll see Rod perform live and have a chance to order his new album Fly Me To The Moon…The Great American Song Book Volume V! I ♥ Rod Stewart – any other fans out there?”

More later after we watch “Mad Men.”

    (Don Draper…..Megan or Faye? Hmmmmmmm????)

    Oh!

Back to Rod! The guy is amazing the way he just reinvents himself and keeps his fingers on the pulse of his fanbase.

My first bigtime concert experience happened waaaaaaay back when Rod and Faces were touring with Deep Purple (my ears are still ringing from Blackmore’s feedback). Your younger readers…and possibly some recent Rod fans….may not realize that in the early 1970’s Faces were very briefly among the biggest performing acts in the world, and were possibly only topped by the Stones and The Who in the UK.

Rod and Ronnie Wood replaced Steve Marriott in Small Faces when Steve formed Humble Pie with Peter Frampton. They changed the name to Faces, and Rod had a solo career and one with the band going simultaneously….”Stay With Me”, ‘Sailing”, “Gasoline” Alley”, “Maggie May”, “I’m Losing You”, “Silicone Grown”. A great group with too much individual talent to stay together. And could those guys party!

On stage there was a bottle or two present most of the time.

At any rate….it’s great to see Rod still making great music at time he could be playing with his grandchildren.

Somehow I can’t picture him with an AARP card and going to Early Bird dinners!

    Hugh Jee,

Your comments and knowledge continue to amaze me. You teach me and entertain me, and my readers, at the same time. I hope you are well.

“Maggie May” was my high school anthem.

Only 2 more episodes of “Mad Men.”

    Love him! (Rod not Don)
