ShopNBC Names QVC Vet Scott Garozzo Director Of Jewelry

QVC and Lord & Taylor veteran Scott Garozzo has joined ShopNBC as Director of Jewelry, the home shopping network said Monday.

Most recently, Garozzo served as senior vice president of merchandising & product development at SHR & Simmons Jewelry Co. Prior to that, he held merchandising positions in the jewelry category at QVC and Lord & Taylor.

Garozzo is being granted inducement stock options as of his first day of employment with ShopNBC, covering the right to purchase 25,000 shares of the company’s common stock. The options will have an exercise price equal to the closing price of the company’s common stock on the date of the grant.

is this good or bad? what can we expect? another person to get up there with the host as one lies and the other swears to it? always adding more to the top instead of strengthening the foundation……geeeeez, what a mess

It tells me they need help in the jewelry category where, as you know, they have gone very much more downscale since the days of Sonia Bitton. Maybe he’ll figure out a successful strategy for them. Maybe not.

It tells me that they need help to revamp their jewelry category. I know that when he was at QVC, Diamonique was exciting and at its best. Since he left, it is old and boring. I can’t wait to watch him turn around the jewelry business at Shop NBC. I have read that he is creative, innovative and someone highly respected in the industry because of his unwavering integrity. A good move for Shop NBC for sure!
